Privacy Policy

This policy explains what ABAJ CZ s.r.o. does with personal information in connection with the website at macrofacet.online. The responsible entity is ABAJ CZ s.r.o., Čajkovského 1684/29, Žižkov, 130 00 Praha 3, Czech Republic, company registration 25687492, contactable at info@macrofacet.online.
Personal information is handled in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, which the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner publishes at oaic.gov.au/privacy/australian-privacy-principles. The sections below follow those thirteen principles in order, so you can compare what the principle requires with what actually happens here.
This policy covers macrofacet.online and nothing else. The affiliate link at https://goradar.xyz/a/G63NqSA23kfYrjy and every other site linked from the course are operated by other people under their own privacy policies, which you should read on their own terms.
APP 1 — Open and transparent management of personal information
This page is the whole of our policy and it is linked from the footer of every page of the site. It is written to be read rather than filed. ABAJ CZ s.r.o. does not run a database of readers, a customer list or a marketing system in connection with this site; the practices described below are the complete set. Questions about any of it go to info@macrofacet.online.
APP 2 — Anonymity and pseudonymity
You can read every page of this site without identifying yourself. There is no account, no sign-in and no form. If you email us, you may use a pseudonymous address and need not give a real name — we will answer a question from "reader42" as readily as from anyone else. The one exception is a request for access to or correction of information about you: to answer that honestly we need enough identification to be confident we are not disclosing one person's information to another.
APP 3 — Collection of solicited personal information
Two categories of information exist, and nothing is collected beyond them.
Server access logs. Our hosting provider records, in the ordinary way, your IP address, the date and time of the request, the URL requested, the referring page if your browser sends one, and your browser's user-agent string.
Emails you send us. If you write to info@macrofacet.online, we hold your email address, any name you give, the content of your message and any attachment you choose to send.
Nothing else is collected. There are no forms, no accounts, no newsletter, no progress tracking, no quiz, no cookies, no web fonts, no analytics, no advertising tags, no profiling and no cross-site tracking. The site requests nothing from any other server, which is why the checklists cannot remember what you have ticked.
APP 4 — Dealing with unsolicited personal information
Sometimes an email arrives containing information we did not ask for and do not need in order to reply — details about a third party, an attachment sent in error, or personal circumstances volunteered along with a question. Where it is lawful and reasonable to do so, we delete that material rather than keeping it.
APP 5 — Notification of the collection of personal information
This page is the notification. The collection of access logs is described in APP 3 above and happens automatically when any browser requests any page from any web server. The collection of email content happens because you chose to write to us, and the purposes, retention periods and recipients for both are set out below.
APP 6 — Use or disclosure of personal information
Access logs are used for three things: keeping the site secure, preventing and investigating abuse, and diagnosing faults. Emails are used for one thing: replying to you and dealing with whatever you raised.
Neither category is used for anything else. Personal information from this site is never sold, rented, traded or shared for anyone's marketing. It is disclosed outside ABAJ CZ s.r.o. only to the service providers named under APP 8, and to a court, regulator or law enforcement body where the law requires it of us.
APP 7 — Direct marketing
We do not conduct direct marketing in connection with this site. There is no mailing list, no newsletter and no sign-up, so there is nothing to unsubscribe from. We do not send course reminders, progress prompts or any other unsolicited message. If you email us, you get an answer to your email and nothing further.
APP 8 — Cross-border disclosure of personal information
Two service providers are involved in running this site, and no others.
Our hosting provider operates the servers the site runs on and keeps the access logs described under APP 3. Our email service provider operates the mailbox behind info@macrofacet.online. Both may store or process data on servers outside Australia. We are not naming a specific country here because we will not state a location we cannot vouch for; what we can tell you plainly is that the location may be outside Australia, and that these two providers are the only recipients of the information described in this policy.
APP 9 — Government related identifiers
This principle has almost no application here. We do not adopt, use or disclose any government-related identifier — no tax file number, no Medicare number, no driver licence number, no passport number. We never ask for one, and if one arrives in an email it is treated as unsolicited information under APP 4.
APP 10 — Quality of personal information
The information we hold is limited to technical log entries and the text of your own emails, so accuracy questions rarely arise. If something we hold about you is wrong, tell us and we will correct it. We do not augment, enrich or combine this information with data from any other source.
APP 11 — Security of personal information
The site is served over HTTPS, so the connection between your browser and the server is encrypted. There is no database behind the site and no stored submissions, because there is nothing on the site that submits anything. The hosting account and the mailbox are accessible only to people working for ABAJ CZ s.r.o., using individual credentials.
We claim no certification, audit or standard beyond that, because we hold none, and a privacy policy that claims one it does not hold is worse than one that says nothing. Information is destroyed or de-identified at the end of the retention periods below.
Retention, by category
- Access logs: 30 days, after which they are deleted in the ordinary course.
- Emails: 24 months after the last message in the conversation, then deleted — unless the correspondence is needed in connection with a legal claim, in which case it is kept until that matter ends.
APP 12 — Access to personal information
You may ask what personal information we hold about you. Email info@macrofacet.online with Privacy request in the subject line. There is no charge for making a request. We answer within 30 days. In practice, unless you have written to us before, the answer is usually that we hold nothing beyond a log entry we cannot connect to you as a person.
APP 13 — Correction of personal information
If information we hold about you is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading, ask us to correct it using the same address and subject line. We correct it, or explain in writing why we have not, within the same 30 days.
Affiliate links and what they mean for your information
The course contains paid affiliate links to one game vendor. When you follow one, you leave macrofacet.online and arrive at a site we do not operate. That vendor and the affiliate network that operates the link may set cookies or use similar technology on their own domains to record that the visit came from us; that happens under their policies, not ours, and we have no control over it or access to it.
What comes back to us is a commission report from the network: aggregate figures used only to reconcile what we are owed. We do not seek, and have no interest in obtaining, information that identifies individual readers.
Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, write to info@macrofacet.online and set out the circumstances. We will respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au/privacy/privacy-complaints, which explains how the OAIC handles complaints and what it can do.
Data breaches
If we have reason to think personal information connected with this site has been accessed or disclosed without authorisation, or lost, we assess what has happened promptly. Where the assessment indicates serious harm to any individual is likely, we notify the affected people and the OAIC in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Children
This site is not directed at people under 16. It is written for adults who are deciding about a game, including adults deciding on behalf of a young person in their household. We do not knowingly collect information that identifies a child, and because the site has no forms or accounts there is no mechanism by which a child could supply any.
If you are in the European Union, the EEA or the United Kingdom
ABAJ CZ s.r.o. is established in the Czech Republic, so European data protection law applies to our handling of personal information alongside the Australian framework described above.
Our legal basis for keeping server access logs is our legitimate interest in operating a secure, functioning website. Our legal basis for handling the content of your emails is that doing so is necessary to respond to the enquiry you have made. We do not rely on consent for anything, because there are no cookies, no tracking and no marketing to consent to.
You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection in respect of information we hold about you. Use the address and subject line given under APP 12. You may also complain to the Czech supervisory authority, the Office for Personal Data Protection (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů), at uoou.gov.cz.
Changes to this policy
When this policy is revised, the effective date at the top is updated. Where a change is material, a note saying so appears at the top of this page for 30 days, so that a returning reader is not left to compare two versions from memory.
